The winners are the best performing IHG hotels and individuals across Europe. At the awards ceremony InterContinental İstanbul was awarded the Food and Beverage Excellence Award and Fatih Şenuslu was awarded the General Manager of the Year Award.

This category recognises one hotel for its commitment to quality, profitability, creativity and concept development in food and beverage.

General Manager of The Year Award
The award recognises Fatih Şenuslu outstanding achievements and contributions to the hotel, the InterContinental brand and IHG as a company.

InterContinental Istanbul’s General Manager Mr. Fatih Şenuslu has been honored with the group’s most prestigious award “Presidency Special Award”, given by Kirk Kinsell the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) President of InterContinental Hotels Group; as a result of his superior performance in financial success, quality and customer satisfaction ratings among the evaluations of 700 hotels within the InterContinental Hotels Group.

The hotel, which has been managed by Mr. Fatih Şenuslu as the General Manager since 2006, consecutively awarded with the “Hotel of the Year” award for three years after 2006. Moreover the hotel has been rated in the top ten hotels lists of the two most prestigious tourism sector magazines; Travel&Leisure and Conde Nast Travel in 2008 and 2009; such lists are completely being determined with the votes of the readers of these magazines.

As the result of a survey realised between its readers, one of the most prestigious magazines in tourism industry, Travel Lesiure, determined InterContinental Istanbul as the third hotel in the category of “Best Service 2010” between the best 10 hotels of Europe. We are honoured to be shown as the third between the ten most prestigious hotels of Europe.
In fact, this election is more than a list. It is a credible and inclusive guide for hotels and also, helps readers to determine the hotels where they can get the best service during their accommodations.
As InterContinental Istanbul, we always focus on increasing our service quality by renovating ourself and we reinforce this point of view by the lobby renovation which we realised lately in order to satisfy our guests expectations.

The traditional annual awards by InterContinental Hotels Group, that evaluate the performances of the group hotels, are announced.

This year, the award ceremony was hosted by InterContinental Istanbul, which has been one of the outstanding components of Istanbul silhouette and which accommodates her guests with excellent service approach since the day it was established. In the award ceremony there were 91 awards in 20 different categories.

InterContinental Istanbul was proud and excited to host the premier names of the Tourism industry. The event venue of the organisation was chosen as the boiler room of the hotel, where allowed the guests to see that the comfort and high technology, which is provided to hotel guests are also used in the infrastructure of the hotel.
InterContinental Istanbul; serving with her expert staff in this special venue that has all the technical hardware installed, also achieved to fascinate the guests with the delicious zests that the experienced chefs reflected their proficiency.

InterContinental Istanbul, besides her excellent hosting, achieved another success and became the owner of the Excellence in Quality and Excellence in Risk Management Awards among 700 hotels in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The hotel, carrying her performance trend to the top in 2009, winning one of the most prestigious awards of the sector; the Excellence in Quality award, which depends on the evaluation survey among the hotel guests, considering general service and accommodation quality, also received the Excellence in Risk Management Award with her approach keeping the safety of the guests and employees ahead of everything.

The general manager of InterContinental Istanbul, Fatih Şenuslu, in his speech about the award said; “It is a great honour for us that the efforts and high performance of our team found worthy to receive these prestigious awards. I am so sure that having these awards will motivate us more and allow us obtain more important achievements in the upcoming years.”

The methodologies and applications of ISO 22000 involve the systematic auditing of food safety and the production process in terms of chemical, physical and microbiological hazards. From now on, this system offers the highest international assurance of both safety and flavor for everything served at the hotel.

ISO 22000 (International Standards Organization, Food Safety Management Systems) is certification of a consistently high standard of quality and is granted to companies in the food sector. Following special training for our staff, as well as rigorous and demanding team activities, a delegation of high-level ISO experts conducted extensive auditing before deciding to grant InterContinental Istanbul certification, thus confirming once again our reputation as a leader in quality service.


Travel + Leisure, one of the most prestigious magazines of tourism industry, has announced fourteenth annual World’s Best Awards readers’ survey. InterContinental Istanbul has achieved an outstanding performance and took the second place on the Europe’s Top Large City Hotels, and also took 57th place on the World’s Top 100 Hotels list, in which there is no other hotel from Turkey.

Travel + Leisure’s Top Hotels lists have an important role in the tourism industry. These lists are based on the readers choices and recognise the outstanding service-oriented performances of the hotels within the group which have received the highest scores in the surveys, which are strong signs for international quality standards.

InterContinental Istanbul was awarded Torchbearer Awards 2008, with the award given to Mr. Fatih ?enuslu. This category recognizes the outstanding service-oriented performances of those hotels within the group which have received the highest scores in the Overall Satisfaction (OSAT) Index and were presented to properties which had achieved results in the top third and the best results in terms of overall standards compliance.

IHG’s OSAT system is compiled using data gained from surveys completed by randomly selected guests during their stay. Guests are asked to rate the hotel on different criteria, such as services, cleanliness, employees and facilities. This Guest Satisfaction Score is analyzed along with overall standards compliance to identify the hotel winners.
InterContinental Istanbul won a 2008 Food and Beverage Excellence Award, with the award given to Mr. Fatih ?enuslu. This category recognized eight winners for their commitment to quality, profitability, creativity and concept development within the Food and Beverage arena, ensuring guests are presented with the highest possible levels of service to enhance their experience and satisfaction.

One of the most prestigious magazines of tourism industry, Condé Nast Traveler, has announced the winners of “Readers’ Choice Awards 2007”. InterContinental Istanbul has achieved to take place on the Europe’s Best Hotels list with many other first class hotels..

Every year since 1988, a select sample of Condé Nast Traveler readers have taken the Readers’ Choice Survey and vote in the categories of service and food quality, destination, architecture and room.


100915_awardsThe global tourism industry has announced the recipients of the World Travel Awards for 2007, the most prestigious awards in the trade. Suite no.1715 at the InterContinental Istanbul was voted the “Best Suite in Turkey”.
Nearly four thousand travel agents around the world cast their votes for these awards. 110,000 travel agencies and 167,000 travel professionals were contacted to vote for the best in the sector. According to the Wall Street Journal the World Travel Awards are “the Oscar Awards of the travel industry”.
